    1. I would like to answer your question Emilia, I believe that in some places littering includes or is mostly created by cars and reckless driving because of all of the debris as the cars crash. In other places littering is mostly caused by other small pieces of litter such as cigarette butts.

    2. I'd like to answer your question Emilia. My theory is that it is similar because it happens around the world because it happens everywhere everyday and it can be the same type of littering. The difference is that there are different types of littering. There can be unsecured loads, or reckless driving. Every area has a different way of littering.

    3. Thank you for answering my question Amir. Do you have any suggestions on how to help our environment?

    4. We can help by making sure that we have secured loads, and manage our littering. For example, making sure that we throw our garbage in the proper garbage.

    5. Thanks Sharah! I would like to agree with you about your similarities and differences, but can you explain how reckless driving is littering?

    6. From the other projects I learned that having a motivation or a good public spirit is what helps cleanup around the world. Some ways we can help cleanup is once in a while have a day to go around your neighbor hood and cleanup the litter, another way you can help out is if you see a piece of garbage on the ground instead of being lazy pick it up.

    7. I would like to answer Emilia's question about What can we do to help? by having a litter less lunch every day, by reusing the back side of paper, recycle glass jars as cups (mason jars), keeping a bag or small trash can in the car instead of throwing out the window, for smokers try not to smoke while driving, at grocery stores bring your own reusable bags why spend money to throw out (certain stores charge 0.05 cents a bag) and use reusable water bottles

    8. I like how you applied your thinking to other projects you have done in the past. I would also like to agree with what you said about helping our environment

    11. @Emilia Debski I did some research on the internet about reckless driving and I learned it is not littering. It is an other term for improper driving in the US. Or as we say in Canada, drunk driving (I personally think). So I'd like to refute my theory on reckless driving from before.

    12. I would like to disagree about your term drunk driving. I think that it maybe one of the causes of reckless driving but not called that. There maybe lots of causes of reckless driving another cause can be if someone is in a rush to go somewhere and they are very focused on getting there.

  2. My theory is littering is different in other countries like Africa they haven't gotten water in 5 years so its not possible for them to have pollution in water. This usually happens in dry countries. They are similar because even though there is no littering in water after all there it is still littering on ground and littering in general.

    1. I really like your theory Karim, it is great how you applied it to other countries in the world

    2. I would like to refute with you Karim because just because some countries in Africa haven't had a rainfall in a while doesn't mean they cant pollute their water because there is still small lakes that carry water and people can easily litter there.

    3. I respectfully disagree your opinion Karim because sometimes it does rain but not as much.

  3. i would like to agree with amir because laziness causes disasters around the world.

    1. Adriana, can you explain further on the part where you said "laziness causes disasters around the world"? What kind of disaster are you talking about because the way I'm thinking of the word 'disaster' doesn't make sense. So please explain farther from what you mean by this statement.

      Delete
    2. Do you mean disaster as in the different types of littering?

      Delete
    3. when i said laziness causes disasters I meant that the people who won't pick up the litter are causing a disaster because when they don't pick it up and it cause bigger piles of litter, which can take over one day if we don't do anything about those people who don't care and are being lazy

  4. My theory about how littering is different around the world because in Singapore, littering is illegal! This makes the country a very clean and sanitary environment to live. My question is, do you think Canada should go into their direction and make littering illegal? and If we did how could it change our lifestyle?

    1. In my opinion I think Canada should make littering illegal because it would be more safe and people like to live in a place where its much cleaner.

  5. To sum up everyones thinking, littering can be caused and can cause many things such as different types of pollution and fossil feuls create plastic, so by wasting plastic we are wasting fossil feuls. But do you think littering can also lead to something as extreme as death.

    1. To answer your question Amir I don't think littering can lead to something extreme as death but maybe an injury. I think this because of Unsecured loads, drivers going at fast speeds with a heavy load at the back can fall out and hit the driver behind it. But, I do think that littering can cause death to animals. Careless animals eat the litter we throw on the ground and can choke or when we litter in the ocean. Fish and other sea creatures can digest our litter which is not good for them and can die.

  6. I would like to answer Emilia's question, we can help stop littering by doing little tasks in our environment. Here in Burlington, we can see roadside litter, if we happen to spot any, we can pick it up and throw it at a near by garbage can, it's not that hard. Here at school we did a yard cleanup and we also have literless lunch. If we all make an effort we can make a change. In our community you can stand up and speak out! Talk to other people and educate them about this topic.

    1. I agree with Charissa, my theory is that people think that it might or might not be okay to litter in places we can't see them. Little things like sorting your garbage, picking up litter you see, also as other people have said litter less lunch. We should make an effort to do that!

    2. I would like to agree with Charissa we can do little things in our daily lives to help the environment we live in. There are so many things we can do to help the environment. Some things we can do are you can use reusable while shopping, when your putting things into a pick up truck make sure they secured properly so nothing would fall out and make sure your garbage is secured so nothing flies out.

    3. So to sum up what you are saying Charissa is that there are so many little things we can do to stop littering which can make a huge impact.

  7. To sum up everyone's theory's, people can stop littering but don't make the effort to. There are action that we can do to help our environment, some places in the world people aren't able to litter like Singapore.
Also there are different types of littering such as cigarette butts, unsecured loads etc.

    1. I would like to agree with you Karina, I think one of the largest reasons we see litter on the ground a lot is because some people don't try to clean it up and keep our world sanitary. We just ignore the rubbish we see in our community. I always see drivers and citizens around us throwing cigarette butts on the ground like it's no big deal but what they don't know is that it can have a major impact on our earth. They contain lots of harmful chemicals which can be bad for our environment. I believe that everyone should start to become aware and make an effort on picking up litter and to even stop doing it.

  8. What are some places where they have been harshly effected by littering ?

  9. How does littering affect your community?

  10. I would like to answer your question Michael. Littering can affect are community by animals dyeing and affecting plants, trees and other animals.

    1. How could the plants and animals die from littering? (give examples)

    2. I can answer your question about animals dyeing from littering, they die by the fossil fouls and some would choke on some of them like plastic bags and things like that

  11. I have a question about littering. Do you think littering is one of those things that never end and will happen through lifetimes or do you think that one day we can all put an end to it and stop littering permanently?

    1. I like this question Charissa and I'd like to answer. My theory is littering is one of those things that won't stop because there are people in the world who don't care that they are littering and causing a big impact on the environment. I believe it can stop in certain cities such as Singapore due to the laws. If we were more strict about littering, maybe we could end it and be an influence to others cities, but personally, I highly doubt it.

    2. I am going to respectfully disagree with you Sharah. My theory is that we can put a stop to littering, we need to make an effort too. Like you said Singapore has been able to have laws against littering. Maybe we wont have laws, but people could support the environment by picking up litter they see on the road, or other places. I personally feel littering will stop, maybe not today but some day.

    3. I would like to agree with you karina because in my theory I think that littering will stop maybe not next year but some day it will.

    4. I would like to agree with Karina and Dara, I do think it will stop but not unless we do something about it. We should be educating people on this type of devastation in the world, we can not just hope this will stop and not do anything about it. There are so many things in the world we don't know about. There maybe people in the world that don't know about how littering has been affecting us but if we keep on littering badly they soon will.

    5. I would like to agree with Sharah when she said "people in the world who don't care that they are littering and causing a big impact on the environment." it is very true because some people are heartless and don't think about how the litter is affecting the environment.
